Fresh Fruit Summer Smoothie

When the weather is hot, smoothies are not, and they make the perfect way to get in your fruits 'n veggies!

My daughter wakes up early and asks for breakfast, all I can think is ... "wahhhh, I don't wanna get outta bed yet! {pouty face, more wahhhhhh}"  Especially since the Summer is meant for sleeping in, right? 

The answer to this dilemma is.. SMOOTHIES!

Fruit is naturally vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free!

Fruit Smoothies make you feel good.
I like to use a combination of fresh and frozen fruit, no added sugar of course, so my drink will be colder longer and it won't get watery with melted ice.

If your smoothie is a bit too sweet for you, depending on the ripeness of the fruit, then I would add a few ice cubes to tone it down.  By doing so, you'll actually make more.  More smoothie, for the win!

A bigger serving is really like an answered prayer.  And you don't have to share the extra.  I won't tell.

"Mom, can I have a refill?"  ...'uhh, there isn't any more.'  *wink wink*

Juicy fruit makes a delightful healthy treat.

Fresh Fruit Summer Smoothie
  • 1 banana
  • 2 oranges
  • 2 peaches
  • 2C frozen mixed fruit
    {peaches, strawberries, 
    pineapple, mango}
Place ingredients into blender/VitaMix in that order.
Pulse. Blend. 

Pour into cup/glass and enjoy!
Garnish with orange slice.
