Frozen Hot Chocolate Mixed in a Blender Bottle

frozen hot chocolate with a blender bottle by beckycharms

We've heard of Frozen Hot Chocolate.. I first saw a tin of the mix at BB&Beyond by Seredipity.  {swoon}  I've wanted to visit ever since I saw the movie Serendipity with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale..

But today,
I received a tweet from Blender Bottle with a recipe for Frozen Hot Chocolate, mixed in none other than the oh-so-well-known Blender Bottle!  Fitting, since the recipe was from their website, and why wouldn't you use their product to make it?  Well, it just so happens that we have a {few} Blender Bottles.  I've loved them since I met them.  My favorites are the Original Classic Minis.. but I don't even have one of those because I could't pick a color.  I am that girl.  The one that has to buy one of every color.. or get none.  I have none. {super sad face}.  Would someone please just surprise me so I won't have to make the other colors sad for not choosing them?  Please?  It IS Christmas time..

Anyhow, after a few cheeky back-and-forths with them, I decided that I would make and try this recipe.  And if I'm going to make it and try it, of course I have to share the results.. Of course!

By the way, I know it's late/early {1:07am PST}.. but I had a hankering.

There were no leftovers.. more so, the original recipe said 2 servings.. The only 2nd serving I saw was when I poured the little bit of leftover into my glass.. I think they call the 2nd serving "refill".

Tips:
  1.  I used my Blender Bottle for testing purposes.. but if you own an electric blender or Vita-Mix, this process would go so much faster.
  2. I added some mini marshmallows.. gave my drink a nice chew.. like boba!
Guilty Confession:  I added an extra scoop of ice cream with my refill.  Heyyyy, it's light.  {-simply shameful-}

Thanks, Blender Bottle, for the recipe and inspiration!

Ok, people.. it's time to go try it.  I think next time I'll add some crushed peppermint candy cane to rim the glass or sprinkle on top as a garnish!  {oh, what a great idea.}
